RSS calls for settlement of Hindus in Kashmir

Bhubaneswar, Jan 27: Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan

Bhagwat called for settlement of Hindus in the Kashmir region where laws prohibit outsiders from buying property.

"Indian patriots should be more in number in our Kashmir. For this if we have to inhabit more of India lovers then we must. If people residing in Kashmir are not loyal to their motherland and do not consider themselves as Indians, then we should not hesitate to settle the state with Indian patriots," Bhagwat said.

Mohan Bhagwat has voiced concern over the violence in Kashmir.

Addressing a public meeting here, Bhagwat said: "If infiltration is taking place along the India-Pakistan border and Pakistan refuses to take any action or control it then I think Indian army should take immediate steps to check it." Bhagwat also expressed concern about the plight of Kashmiri Pandits. Admitting that the Maoist violence had its roots in societal backwardness, Bhagwat said the administration should take up developmental activities to defeat Left wing extremism. (Agencies)
